Yea im definitely looking towards japanese architecture. They do so much with small spaces, and I prefer a small tight place most of the time. But that hallway is so amazing.
It would be cool to build some funky structures. A miniature cityscape? Like the natural look of untreated wood.

Grow Rambling Roses Up Old Apple Trees in Country Garden Design Ideas - how to a create a well-planned herbaceous border and farmhouse or cottage look, ideas for gardens both big and small.
Creating two levels of hedging by underplanting the raised hedge is a nice twist on the stilted hedge that has become popular with garden designers in recent years. Here we see a formal low-clipped boxwood hedge under the raised hedge of Photinia x fraseri 'Red Robin'. Both are evergreen, creating great year-round interest.
This garden makes me so happy!
Wooden garden obelisks. How about a couple of these beauties - they come in a huge range of paint shades and add height and interest to any planting scheme. Gorgeous with climbing roses and Clematis.

Going to have one of these to divide the main garden from the vegetables. Create secret garden style areas.
In response to our clients request for a country style garden, we gave the new flower-beds a billowy sumptuous feel using Hydrangeas, Roses, Foxgloves, Astrantia, Anthemis, Nepeta, Salvia and Centranthus. White stemmed silver birch connect the new garden to the wooded area beyond.
Use a row of white bark birch trees along a fence line to give additional privacy .............................but how big do they get? in other words would they stay narrow? if I even would be allowed to grow these in our small outdoor space at our condo? i like the idea of more privacy

(Graduated) Stairway to heaven Decomposed-granite steps edged with concrete nudge this path upslope in a backyard in Portola Valley, California. Because the steps taper from 8 feet wide at the bottom to 3 feet wide at the top, they appear to cover more ground than they do. (A Cor-Ten steel wall enhances the effect; from a 4 1/2-foot base, it shrinks to 2 feet high at the top.) Dasylirion and dwarf lavender line the path.
